Viva Las Vegas!

We took a Break from Salt Lake's version of Spring this year and headed to Las Vegas! If Jackson isn't asking to go on a little trip to Price, then he is usually asking to go to Las Vegas to play with his cousins. After the 7 hour drive with FIVE boys, with Jackson asking if we were almost there as we were passing by Nephi, we arrived in sunny Las Vegas only to enjoy 70 degree weather all week!! Alison had a fun outing planned each day which included picnics, park visits, and just being outside. We were lucky to also have my mom join in the fun. As Justin put it, "what more could you ask for: your mom, your sister, and warm weather!"

Group shot at Calico Basin. We enjoyed a picnic and a little "hike!" We missed Ethan on most of our outings because he is a big first grader and has to go to school all day. One awesome thing about Ethan that I learned on our trip is what a good piano player he is! I was really impressed.

How cute are these two?! With Bowen's smile and Keaton's blue eyes, they are quite a pair. Bowen misses Keaton---well, and Keaton's toys too! Both Jackson and Bowen were in toy heaven!

First swim of the year--in the Racoona! Jackson kept calling the Jacuzzi a "Racoona." Hmmm...not quite sure why. But they sure enjoyed swimming everyday right in the backyard. Ethan and Blake are really good swimmers. I'm hoping that will rub off on Jackson since Jackson is refusing to take swimming lessons this year. He loves to go swimming, but because of a few bad experiences with swimming lessons last year, he is opting to stick with the sports he loves--golf, tennis, baseball, etc!

Thanks to Uncle Darren for some good old-fashioned bull riding! Justin told me he wants to take a turn next time you guys are here! What great uncles...

Great friends! Right after this picture, Blake asked Jackson, "What face did you make?" He is such a funny kid. One day, we heard Jackson crying in Alison's room. We went in there to find Jackson and Blake were jumping on Alison's bed. When we asked why Jackson was crying, Blake informed us that they were just BOXING! Not long after his tears had dried, Jackson was ready for another round. They also had some pretty BIG plans to create a Go-Cart track made out of wood. All week long, they added details into their plans. The funniest plans were the "Friendship Lists" as Blake calls them. Only people on the "Friendship List" could come and use the track. You better believe they were writing down their friends names in pencil, because one little mistake and someone would be erased. Jackson was a little disappointed that nothing had been made by the time we left. Maybe next time!

Thanks to Alison, Darren, and Grandma for such a fun time!

First Taste of SpRiNg!!

I can't believe I am FINALLY posting about Spring! Although, I don't think I picked a very good day to talk about Spring since we just finished with a Spring snow storm! We have had some great first "tastes" of Spring this year. We have enjoyed playing outside, going on walks, going to the park, playing catch, and making daily rounds in the yard to see what new greenery has grown! Of course, to kick off Spring this year, we enjoyed a great Easter. While the enjoyment of the Easter Bunny was definitely a part of the "big day," it was nice to have Jackson talk about Jesus and explain to us how He still lives today! Bring on more Spring memories!
The first bloom! If you get a magnifying glass, you may be able to see the purple and yellow pansie bloom in between Jackson and Bowen. Very exciting! However, if you were to come and try to find it at my house today, it would be gone--thanks to the deer that roam our neighborhood at night.

Like Father, Like Son. Justin found a Titleist golf hat Jackson's size. I don't know who was more excited--Jackson or Justin!

Our Little Artist at Work

Poor Bowen was sick on Easter with the stomach flu. He is such a sweet little guy and was very excited to find some toys waiting for him in his Easter basket. Can you help but smile when he gives a grin like that?!
