Cute Moments

Storytime...

Tonight, I walked into the living room, and Jackson was reading books to Bowen. Side-by-side reading wasn't working out quite right, so Jackson told Bowen to sit on his lap. This does my heart some good--reading and loving together.
Helping Dad...

Justin is in charge of getting the sacrament ready each Sunday. This has become a highlight for Jackson over the past 3 years. He LOVES to go with Justin to pick up the "boys" and hang out with them while they prepare.
New Middle Name...
Today we were walking out of Harmon's, and just before we went through the doors out into the cold, I said to Jackson and Bowen:
Me: "Are you guys ready?"
Jackson: (in sort of a tough voice) "Ready is my middle name!"

Trying to Get Back, Snow, and a BIG First...

My cute older brother left me a message tonight, wondering what was going on with our blog. I honestly don't know where my motivation has gone, but I'm going to try AGAIN to make this work. My new motivation (besides Greg) is going to be to make this blog a journaling piece for our family (again).

Those who know me well, know that winter is not my favorite time of year. This has to do with the cold, the snow, the inversion, and the inability to walk outside without freezing to death. But I think I'm softening a bit this year due to the enthusiasm from my boys about the one thing I dread the most...SNOW! They are loving it! The enthusiasm is a bit contagious. And when I saw this picture of Bowen all bundled up, I decided I liked the snow even more. Who wouldn't when their little guy looks this cute playing in it?!

Jackson spent 2 hours out in the snow this particular day with the neighborhood kids. They built snowmen, forts and had snowball fights.

Everytime we get home and get out of the car, Bowen runs and gets the snowshovel and gets working. At least this particular day, there was snow to shovel! He sees Justin and Jackson doing it, and of course, wants to be just like them.

It truly is the highlight of a snowy day if Jackson gets to help Justin shovel snow. We can even classify it as a "privilege" and use it to bargain for good behavior! I wonder how long that will last...

So you can see, my attitude about snow has slightly changed. Check in with me in a couple weeks, and we'll see if the enthusiasm still exists. Another good thing that came out of enjoying the snow is after I saw the picture of Bowen with a beanie on, I decided it was time for a change. His face is too dang cute to be distracted by a mullet. So...

BOWEN HAD HIS FIRST HAIRCUT! A big step for our boys, I know. Isn't he handsome!!
