The first week of September, my good friend and PGA Tour golfer Chris Riley http://www.pgatour.com/players/02/01/27/ came to town to play in the event at Willow Creek. Chris stayed at our house, and we enjoyed having him with us for a few days. Jackson has now named the room that Chris slept in "Chris's Room". The highlight of the week for me was that I got to caddie for Chris.
The next week I got to go to Palo Alto, California to watch my cousin Bo McNally play football for Stanford. Though they lost to Oregon, I had a great time. Bo had a great game and he continues to make our family proud on and off the field. Games are so much fun to watch when you know someone who is playing. On a sidenote, Stanford beat #1 USC two weeks later. This photo is Bo making the game winning interception against USC.
This last weekend was a great one too. On Friday I went to St. George and spent the night at my best friend Bret's house. We watched the MLB playoffs most of the night.
After grabbing a bite to eat on Saturday morning, we drove to Las Vegas. We spent a good part of the day at the PGA Tour event. We had a good time watching some of the big names in golf tee it up. The highlight of the afternoon came when the aforementioned Chris Riley put on a clinic with Butch Harmon(best golf instructor in the world), Greg Maddux(MLB pitcher) and others. Chris let Bret and me go down on the range and have a front row seat to everything. Thanks Riles!
After the golf clinic, Bret and I went to the BYU vs. UNLV football game. My brother- in- law Darren and nephew Ethan came with us. We sat in the midst of hard-core UNLV fans and it was great! The Cougs came away with a win despite not playing their best game of the year. I will never complain about a win. The tough part of the schedule is coming up and I am looking forward to a very exciting finish.
In addition to golf, playoff baseball, and football the NBA is getting ready to start. We(Utah Jazz) are going to be very good again this year. We are young and talented. However, I think we are still one player away from having a parade in downtown SLC. We need to get a shooting guard. If Larry Miller or Kevin O'Conner are reading this blog(and why wouldn't they) my advice to you is to trade AK47 for a lights out shooting guard.
Now that I have briefed you on my recent activites, I need to once again thank my wife for letting me do all of these fun things. She understands my passion for sports and is a very supportive wife. Not to mention the fact she is the best mom this planet has ever seen. Love you Jill. I look forward to watching sports with you this weekend.............. Just Kidding!
