It's an exciting time of year around our house! The BYU shirts, flags, car decals, and footballs are out. I actually don't know who is more excited about the start of college football--Justin or Jackson! Justin took Jackson to BYU's opening game last Saturday. They had a great time. Justin said Jackson chants, "Go Cougs!" pretty much the whole time. Add all-you-can-eat treats and its definitely a great time! I wonder if I'll ever be invited to go to a game...

That's right! No training wheels! The past couple of weeks, Jackson's training wheels kept sliding back so they weren't being very useful. Eventually, we realized he wasn't even using them. Justin took the training wheels off, and immediately Jackson was riding around our circle doing tricks: riding with his eyes closed, trying to do wheelies, and going down everyone's steep driveways. There's something about the first time your child rides a two-wheeler bike...we were so proud of him! And who do you think he wanted to tell first? BLAKERS!
Bowen got so caught up in the excitement of Jackson riding his two-wheeler bike, that he decided to do something new himself--go down our pretty steep driveway on his bike! It was actually a pretty scary moment. He usually stops halfway down, so I took a picture when he started his descent. After the picture, I had to step in and stop his progress at the bottom because he was losing control. If you can enlarge this picture, you can see the panic starting to seep into his face. Poor guy!
Jackson started his first day of pre-school yesterday. He was so excited! His teacher is Miss Kristi at Corner Canyon Academy. He's excited to make new friends and learn how to read. We went to the mall last week, and he picked out a "first-day-of-school-shirt." Weird that he chose football... When I picked him up, his teacher said to me, "Is he sweet enough! I love him!" I love that he loves to go to school. We are so proud of him!

Wow! Bike riding and school--the boys are growing up so fast. Love the picture of poor little Bowen flying down the driveway. I'm sure he was glad that Mom was there to catch him!
: )
You gotta love college football season. I basically have to fight for Dustin's attention every Satruday until the BCS championship game is over. What do you do... they love it!
Hopefully the weather will stay warm enough to perfect the wheelies.
Jill, I hear ya on BYU football. Jake was singing the cougar fight song (is that even what it's called)in the shower this morning as he is trying to get ready for school. My problem is it just doesn't end at BYU...it's every college game that's sandwiched in between.
Way to go Jackson on your bike...you look awsome!
Way to go Jackson! No training wheels, pre school, football games...you are one lucky boy! Thanks for the update Jill! Your family sure is cute!
Good job Jackson - so much fun. Hope he loves Preschool. I can't wait for Sadie to start to love reading!
No training wheels!! Nice work Jackson! Now lets try to get Justy Boy's training wheels off! ha ha!
I blew up the picture of Bowen - his face is great!
Cute family you have! See ya at the FAIR!
isn't this time of year just awesome?!*$#@
love the football excitement and bike riding freedom. your boys are way too cute!
GO UTES!
We are just glad that the shirts, car decals, and flags that are flyin' are all BLUE!!! That would be hard to stomach if we had to look at red all season!
We are so excited for Jackson's accomplishment! I asked Hayley the other day if she wanted to ride her bike and she said no, because she was afraid Jackson would make fun of her training wheels! I had to hold back the giggles.
I'd be happy to help you with your blog background...it seriously takes 2 seconds! Let me know when... I'd be happy to show you the ear wiggle too while I'm at it! :o)
What a fun time of year! I am amazed at Jackson's skills! Good work Jackson on riding a bike with no training wheels! Jill, don't you love your time to yourself when Jackson is at school? Well I guess it isn't totally to yourself, but one kid is a breeze when you are use to 2! Plus I love that the kids are having fun at school. I would love to get together when things calm a bit around here. I am working on the float pool and training is full time for 7 months! Ahhh it is killing me!
Take some pictures of the tricks...both legs back, eyes closed, kung-fu kick, curb jumps... A few reasons I love boys.
sounds like our house, just switch the colors around!!! We're wearing RED every saturday, but I'm pretty sure Matt talks to Justin more during the day than I do! Just give it about 4 more months and we should get our husbands back, right? :) GO UTES!
