Christmas 2007

We sure are blessed! I love that the holiday season brings this fact straight to the surface each year. Even though it gets a little crazy around Christmas, it's the kind of craziness that creates memories and gives us the opportunity to spend time with the people we most love. We were blessed to have my sister, Alison, and her family spend Christmas with us at our house. The excitement of 5 little boys was so much fun!!
Jackson was so excited to get his L-Max and is currently trying to master the Cars game. Justin keeps reminding me to get earphones for Jackson to wear so we don't have to hear Mader all day long! Although the toys were exciting for Jackson, he really enjoyed all of the Christmas parties where he could play with his cousins. I felt much better about the season when he would remind me that Christmas is Jesus' birthday.
This was my Bowen's first Christmas! I forget that babies just don't care about presents! I was a little surprised at first that he didn't care about all of his toys! He was just happy to be around everybody. It was fun to have him crawling around while we enjoyed our gift exchanges. The next big event for Bowen is his first birthday in February!
Now that Christmas is over, I'm basically ready for Spring. Western Garden has a countdown to Spring on their outside sign. . .11 weeks to go!

...with the lights all aglow...

We are so excited for this holiday season! The very first thing we do each year (even before Thanksgiving) is we put up our Christmas tree. I have to say that Christmas trees are one of my favorite things about Christmas. We always seem to gather around it the whole month of December and just hang out with each other as a family. Jackson and Bowen are the entertainment, of course! Or sometimes at night, when the kids are in bed and Justin is in his cave, I read a book just from the light the Christmas tree gives off. Pretty cheesy, but I love it!

Our other holiday favorite are the outside Christmas lights that Justin puts up each year. This year he put them up on a nice sunny day so there wouldn't be any chance of slipping and falling off the roof like last year!! Jackson was a good helper--anytime Justin needed something while he was on the roof, Jackson would try throwing it to him. Thanks to our Justy Boy for risking his life to set our house all aglow!
