Threats...

My little Jackson is getting fiesty in his old age. When he feels like he's losing control in a situation, he resorts to "disciplining" me! Yesterday was one of those days where we just couldn't see eye-to-eye, and he had a couple of humorous responses!
We went to lunch at Rumbi's with Aunt Joanna after school. Jackson wanted his own salad. I gave him the choice to share a salad with me or choose something off of the Kids Menu...
Jackson: "If you don't let me get my own salad, I'll go get a tattoo. A real one. I'll get hundreds of them."
(My great parental response was..."okay, go do it" while trying not to laugh.)
Jackson hit Aunt Joanna and earned himself a trip to time out. While in time out, he kept yelling...
Jackson: "If you don't let me out of here, I'm going to tell your mom."
Jackson wanted to do something (I can't remember what now) that wasn't safe. I told him that he couldn't do it.
Jackson: "Well, if you don't let me do it, I'll take your bike away."
Me: I don't have a bike.
Jackson: "Well, when you get one, I'll take it away."
Me: (once again, my great parenting skills shine through) "Okay, you do that when I get a new bike."

Why is it that every time we have days like this, I want to argue back with him?! He has been cracking us up lately with stories from school. Those I'll save for another post...

Conversation with Jackson about...

GIRLS!!

I kind of like to tease Jackson about girls because he vocally expresses that he likes Hannah Montana and Taylor Swift. I recently had two funny conversations with Jackson about this sensitive subject!

Me: So, Jackson, do you like to play with any girls in your class at school?
Jackson: (saying like, "are you kidding me") No!
Me: Why not?
Jackson: (talking indifferently while doing his homework) I don't like girls. They are beautiful; but I don't like them.

Jackson: Mom, are pricesses nicer than you?
Me: Well, I don't think so.
Jackson: Why?
Me: Because I am your mom, so I'm nice. (nice explanation, huh?)
Jackson: Well, princesses are beautiful...so they are nicer than you.

Who Taught You Manners...

NOTE: I'm not sure who is responsible for the following statement from Jackson. I think I'll blame it on a few people: my older brother Greg (who invented part of the saying when he was a kid) and Justin (who continues to bring it up).
I had just picked Jackson up from school, and we were running a few errands.
Jackson: (Burping loudly) "Excuse me that was so rude; it was not me, it was my snack I had at school."
Wow...
