K.L. Memorial Ski Day

First Annual KL Memorial Ski Day
Park City Mountain Resort
Zach Beynon and Jake put together such a wonderful tribute to Grandpa Mauss by organizing a memorial ski day at Park City Mountain Resort.  Grandpa Mauss was on the first ski patrol at Park City Resort, so it was fitting to honor him with a day in the snow there.

Jackson and Bowen did great!  Justin's report on Jackson's skiing is:  he has a perpetual "need for speed," he can stop when he wants to, and he can make turns.  Bowen started out the ski day with a tantrum at the boot rental place.  He was so upset about how the boots felt on his feet.  I expected a call within 20 minutes to come and pick him up.  But to my surprise, he loved every minute of his ski day!  For Bowen's first ski trip, Justin's report is: he learned how to do the snow plow, and he loved skiing down the mountain fast with Justin holding him.

Teylor, Darbee, and I hung out with the little ones at the condo.  Hayes and Alivia were busy little friends!  Alivia is teething 3 molars, so she struggled a little throughout the day.  But we had a great time chatting, eating soup, and being the chauffers for all of the skiiers!

The condo was so much fun for the kids when they weren't skiing.  They particularly loved hanging out in the deep bathtub!

We've got some great actors in our family!  Look who I found asleep outside in the snow!

I'm sure Grandpa Mauss had a great big smile on his face as he watched his family gather together and spend a day doing something he loved.  This will definitely be a day to look forward to each year.

That looks like a lot of fun! Miles is breaking in 4 molars right now...painful! Your kids are brave to ski at such a young age...nice job Justin!
